Silent Hill f is one of the best horror games of the year, but if you’ve not picked it up yet, Fanatical is currently offering it at a much lower price than it’s ever been on Steam. Right now, you can grab the Standard Edition of Silent Hill f for less than half price – dropping this must-play psychological horror to its lowest price yet. But that’s not all, Fanatical has also knocked 25% off the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, so you can pick up the base game plus a bunch of extra goodies for less than the Standard Edition’s usual RRP. But, you have to act fast: this deal will soon be a ghost.
NeoBards Entertainment’s Silent Hill f is an absolute must-play for horror fans. A standalone spin-off of the Silent Hill series, Silent Hill f is set in 1960s Japan and follows high school student Hinako Shimizu as she navigates the rural town of Ebisugaoka, which has been consumed by the eerie (and iconic) fog that has become a staple of the series.
To uncover what has brought about the fog, Hinako must fight the truly grotesque creatures that reside within it to survive. It’s not just physical challenges she faces, however. There are also plenty of head-scratcher puzzles along the way, so make sure to keep a notebook and pen nearby for some old-school puzzle solving. Also, if you really want to up the ante, I advise playing with headphones. The game uses immersive 3D audio soundscapes, and that’s the best way to feel like you’re genuinely exploring its world – it works even better if you play it in the dark too.
In PCGamesN’s Silent Hill f review, Danielle Rose called the survival horror an “instant classic” and praised how Neobard reinterpreted the series for a modern audience. “Silent Hill F embodies everything special about the series – particularly Silent Hill 2 – without trying to copy it frame for frame,” Rose wrote in the review. “Its modern graphics and design sensibilities often complement it rather than detract, with developer Neobards changing what it can while staying true to the essence of the series’ best.” I personally think it’s a brilliant experience and recommend it to fans of the series and newcomers alike.
If being scared silly sounds like your cup of tea, this deal is one for you. Fanatical is offering 53% off Silent Hill f’s Standard Edition right now, dropping the price from $69.99 / £69.99 to $32.89 / £32.89 in the UK – the lowest price we’ve seen yet. If you want a few extra goodies for your hard-earned cash, however, Fanatical’s discount on the Digital Deluxe Edition offers even more value for money. Silent Hill f’s Digital Deluxe Edition has been discounted by 25%, from $79.99 / £79.99 to $59.99 / £59.99. That’s less than the usual RRP for the Standard Edition, and for that price, you get the base game and the following bonuses:
- Digital Artbook
- Digital Soundtrack
- Pink Rabbit Costume
You’ll have to act fast to take advantage of this scarily good deal, however, as it ends on Tuesday, December 23. If you miss out, then the only ghost you’ll be visited by is the Ghost of Christmas Past, who will rub your face in the bad decision you made.
