The Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots Steam Deck rating was a hot topic in the lead-up to its release, thanks to the inclusion of a kernel-level anti-cheat. However, this family-friendly golf game is out now, and it turns out there was no need to worry about the anti-cheat at all.
Typically, the Steam Deck doesn’t get on well with anti-cheat software, and I’ve written about how Steam Deck anti-cheat has become one of the Valve handheld’s biggest concerns. Despite this, as we discuss in our buying guide, we still consider it the best handheld gaming PC on the market, regardless of this compatibility issue.
Is Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots Steam Deck compatible?
Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots is rated as Playable on the Steam Deck. It misses out on full verification due to the text size on the Steam Deck screen and the fact that you need to adjust the graphical settings to get the best performance.
Early Steam reviews suggest some performance issues, ranging from low frame rates to full game crashes, with some users even stating that the Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots system requirements might have been set too low.
Thankfully, nothing so far suggests that there are issues with the Easy Anti-Cheat in terms of game performance or the game failing to boot on Valve’s handheld.
