Iconic Bethesda Voice Actor of Skyrim, Fallout 3, and More Found ‘Barely Alive’ as Family Seek Support

Update: Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson is now awake and talking but “a little out of it” after being found “barely alive” in his hotel room last week.

Johnson’s wife Kim informed charity initiative FalloutForHope on X/Twitter of the improvement. “He is awake and talking, but just a little out of it,” she said. “He’s still in [the intensive care unit] but far more stable.”

She added that “specialists have a theory on what the health issue is and they’re running tests to zero in on the cause,” and that Johnson’s family will “keep everyone updated.”

Original Story: Iconic Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, who’s appeared in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and many more, was found “barely alive” in his hotel room last week and his family are asking fans for their support.

As reported by PC Gamer, Johnson’s wife Kim and other family members have set up a GoFundMe to ask fans for donations towards medical expenses and to cover bills while he’s unable to work. “Right now, Wes continues to battle for his life in an intensive care unit,” the page said.

Johnson volunteered to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation in Atlanta on January 22 but, after flying down and checking into his hotel, alarms were raised as he didn’t appear at the event.

“When he didn’t show up at the event, his wife Kim tried desperately to get in touch with him,” the post said. “It took hotel security to enter his room and discover him unconscious and barely alive. Emergency medical technician crews struggled to find a pulse.”

The GoFundMe set a $50,000 target but this has already been reached almost three times over as $144,791 has been raised so far, via donations from 2,200 supporters. As well as voicing beloved video game characters, Johnson has been the public address announcer for the Washington Capitals for 25 years and has appeared in myriad film and television roles.

His video game work is mostly in Bethesda titles, having most recently played Ron Hope in Starfield. Johnson has also played Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes (Boethiah, Malacath, and Molag Bal) in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, and more.
