How do I get to Mariana’s Veil in Fisch?
As expected, the location of Mariana’s Veil in Fisch is Roslit Bay. A laser set up on the lighthouse uncovered the path through the lava that almost swallowed the island during the Ashfall event.
Simply head to Roslit Bay and talk to Mr. Glimmerfin at the Submarine Dock by the lighthouse. Complete his questline to build a submarine used to unlock the Mariana’s Veil.
Use the Drill he gives you to extract all five Submarine Parts from the rocks scattered around Roslit Bay.
Speak to Glimmerfin with these in your inventory to trigger a cutscene unlocking Mariana’s Veil. Use your new Submarine boat from the usual Shipwright to enter the zone.

What is the Fisch Mariana’s Veil update about?
From the event page that surfaced shortly after the big Atlantis update in early January, we have a relatively clear premise for the Mariana’s Veil expansion that reads:
“Atlantis was only the beginning. The world of Fisch descended into chaos when the truth about the Lost City was revealed. As secrets surfaced, reality began to warp, drawing the world into the enigmatic shadows of the unknown.”
Remember when Fisch used to be relaxing? We’re through the looking glass now, people.
Following the doomsayer-esque NPC dialogue that came with subsequent updates like the Ashfall event, evidence is piling up to suggest the Mariana’s Veil update will be much darker in tone than the others. Recent teases have included ominous messages, lost footage-style video, eerie music, and even a crime scene complete with an NPC-shaped chalk outline.
The trailer, released just a day before the update, shed light on the Mariana’s Veil zone. It is indeed a spot deep in the Fisch ocean. So deep that regular diving gear won’t be enough to access it.
Instead, we’ll need to ride a submersible down through the trench, eventually arriving at an open zone we can explore on foot.
There, we’ll excavate Lava Crystals while fending off high temperatures. Lava Crystals and other items like Inferno Hide and new fish like the Blisterback Blenny and Infernal Iguanafish can then be used to upgrade the Glimmerfin Suit and submarine to tolerate higher temperatures, likely unlocking deeper sections of the veil.
These deeper areas look to include large and violent lantern fish that will eat you unless you prefer high-value fish like Orca or Kraken as food.
Toward the end of the trailer, we hear the roar of something bigger before a single frame displays what can only be described as a Hydra. Is that what awaits us on the other side of the locked door? Can we catch it? We don’t have to wait long to find out.
What is Mariana’s Veil?
Though entirely unconfirmed, the current thinking is that Mariana’s Veil is a play on the real-life Mariana Trench with some light leanings on the Greek mythology aspect introduced with the Atlantis update and its diety denizens.
Evidence in favor of the parallels between the update and the Mariana Trench include the real-world location’s proximity to active volcanos (hence the Volcanic Eruption precursor event) and the update page’s main image depicting a player with diving gear finding a large and exotic jellyfish deep underwater.
In the real world, the Mariana Trench is the deepest trench on the planet, with its deepest known point being further from sea level than the peak of the tallest mountain.
This easily lends to the idea that it could be the deepest part of the Fisch world, being deeper than the Northern Summit biome is tall. It also gives us a way to speculate its location in the game.
Where is the Mariana’s Veil location in Fisch?
We suspect Mariana’s Veil will be accessible either through the Desolate Deep, Roslit Volcano, or around that section of the map.
It’s the best lead we have due to the real-life Mariana Trench (the update’s likely source of inspiration) and its proximity to volcanoes.
And if the nearby Desolate Deep, accessed by diving down from the buoy just off the shore of Roslit Volcano, was already inspired by the trench, there’s reason to believe Mariana’s Veil will be an expansion to that zone caused by the recent volcanic eruption event.
One teaser image included an ominous message and was seemingly taken in the now-open hatch on Birch Cay. This could suggest the other hatches found around the world for months could soon open, too.
What are the new Fisch Mariana’s Veil rods?
We haven’t had any teases regarding new rods for the Mariana’s Veil update just yet. Check back at launch as we add each new rod and how to get them.
How to complete the Fisch Mariana’s Veil bestiary
We’ll be adding all the new fish locations, as well as the best bait, rods, and weather conditions for them as soon as the update drops.
We suspect there will be more than one new bestiary for the Mariana’s Veil expansion. If it is a location within the Desolate Deep, you may need to complete that bestiary to unlock the rest of the expansion, just as you needed to complete the Vertigo bestiary to unlock the Depths expansion.
Looking to make a quick buck before then? Check out the latest Fisch codes. Expect one or two more when the update lands, too. Just note that older ones will likely then expire.
