Fellow bargain fans, it’s time to stock up again. This latest round of discounts has slashed prices on some absolute gems across Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC. Let’s take a peek at the highlights before they disappear forever.
This Day in Gaming 🎂
In historical gaming news, I’m lighting 8 candles on a cake for the Nintendo Switch, that little hybrid console that could. Back when it launched, there was a feeling that Nintendo was taking a risk with it. After the commercial failure of the Wii U, many industry analysts questioned whether the company could reclaim its dominance, especially with the comparatively diminutive tech specs they planned to compete with.
I took a leap of faith and went all in on day one. Within 5 minutes of alternating my play experience of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild from handheld to TV, it was clear that Nintendo’s gamble was going to pay off in spectacular fashion. Fast forward to now, and we find ourselves on the eve of receiving its successor (the unimaginatively titled Switch 2). I couldn’t be more excited to see what it can do.

Nice Savings for Nintendo Switch
On Nintendo Switch, Super Mario RPG ($55) is a must for nostalgia lovers, as it revives the classic SNES adventure with a fresh look. Alternatively, there’s Broforce ($4), a bombastic 4P, 2D shooter that’s all about over-the-top Hollywood heroes with ridiculous firepower.

This remake is an incredibly faithful recreation of that already awesome RPG, with a fresh coat of paint and some small but smart combat updates.

Exciting Bargains for Xbox
For Xbox Series X peeops, Gotham Knights ($30) lets you patrol the crime-ridden streets of Gotham without Batman. Meanwhile, Trials of Mana ($32) is a faithful remake of the Japan-only 1995 RPG Seiken Densetsu 3, finally letting Western players enjoy this classic adventure.

AC Shadows

By sharpening the edges of its existing systems, Assassin’s Creed Shadows creates one of the best versions of the open-world style it’s been honing for the last decade. 8/10, great.

PS5 players, you can grab Star Wars Jedi: Survivor ($59) and continue Cal Kestis’ journey with his droid companion BD-1 (free trivia: he was inspired by Pixar’s Wall-E). Or get ready for chaos with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 ($59), a sequel that took over a decade to happen.

9/10, amazing. If Respawn makes a third game like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Fallen Order, it’ll complete the best Star Wars trilogy in 30 years.

Finally, PC players can experience horror at its peak with Dead Space 2 ($6)—a game so terrifying it was once banned in China. Or you can test your racing skills in Assetto Corsa ($8), a simulator I regularly pair with mods and VR.
