Some weeks I log in expecting tumbleweeds, but the digital shelves are mighty stacked right now. There are deep cuts on genre-defining RPGs, chaotic party titles, and a few games that should be on your bucket list still. And now, without much further ado, let’s scroll down into the mad savings specifics…

This Day in Gaming 🎂
In retro news, I’ve made a big pop-up 10th bday card for Tearaway Unfolded, a platform adventure made entirely of vibrant folded paper. Back in the day, it felt like nothing else on PlayStation. Media Molecule gave us a toy box where the controller itself became part of the world. I remember swiping the touchpad to create gusts of wind, tilting to roll platforms, and shining the light bar like a flashlight to reveal hidden secrets.
Playful and endlessly inventive, Unfolded showcased the DualShock 4’s versatility in ways most other games never dared. Tearaway Unfolded may have started as a Vita experiment, but on PS4 it grew into a joyous celebration of interactivity that still makes me smile when I think back on it.

Nice Savings for Nintendo Switch
On Switch, I can’t help but grin at Everybody 1-2-Switch! which remains one of the most eccentric party games Nintendo has ever dared to ship. Did you know the bizarre horse-masking in early promotional art was based on an inside joke from staff karaoke nights? Meanwhile, Persona 5 Tactica manages to distil the series’ stylish confidence into grid-based combat, with the same voice actors returning even for minor characters.
- Pokémon Legends: Z-A (-13%) – A$78 A new chapter in the Pokémon saga with a fresh open-world spin, letting you explore and battle in ways fans have been begging for. Prequel vibes with modern polish.
- Persona 5 Tactica (-44%) – A$53.50 The Phantom Thieves return in a tactical RPG twist. Grid-based combat, flashy Persona attacks, and stylish storytelling make this a steal at nearly half off.
- Bravely Default HD NS2 (-16%) – A$46 Square Enix’s classic JRPG with the Brave and Default system gets a modern facelift. A turn-based gem worth revisiting if you missed it the first time.
- Everybody 1-2-Switch! (-31%) – A$34.40 Gather friends, pick Joy-Cons, and dive into quirky mini-games ranging from wacky races to bizarre party antics. Perfect for family nights or awkward ice-breakers.
- Nintendo World Championships: NES Ed. (-22%) – A$39 A celebration of retro Nintendo glory. Test your speedrunning chops with bite-sized NES challenges. Nostalgia with a competitive edge.

Exciting Bargains for Xbox
Xbox Series X is glowing thanks to Resident Evil 4, which Capcom painstakingly rebuilt in the RE Engine. The lake monster fight still makes me clench, but the devs once revealed the fight was coded entirely last minute after testers demanded a big set piece there. Also on sale, Gotham Knights may have stumbled at launch, but its Batcycle was designed by the same Warner Bros Montreal team that drew up the Batgirl DLC in Arkham Knight.
- Expansion Card 1TB (-29%) – A$218.50 Seagate’s official Xbox expansion storage solution. Seamless plug-and-play, lightning-fast load times, and future-proofing your library with an extra terabyte.
- Forza Horizon 5 (-50%) – A$49.90 Playground Games’ open-world racer takes you through Mexico with a gorgeous car roster. Half price for hundreds of hours of racing bliss.
- Resident Evil 4 (-48%) – A$30.90 Capcom’s legendary horror remade into a modern masterpiece. Leon’s European nightmare never looked so good or played so tight.
- Gotham Knights (-73%) – A$29.90 Batman’s gone, so it’s up to the Bat-family. A flawed but fun action RPG with drop-in co-op and a huge discount that softens the blow.
- Far Cry 4 (-85%) – A$7.40 Kyrat awaits with chaotic open-world mayhem. Elephants, explosions, and Pagan Min at his peak. An absolute bargain at under ten bucks.
Xbox One
- The Crew Motorfest (-56%) – A$43.90 Ubisoft’s open-world racer channels Horizon energy with Hawaii vibes. Tons of cars, themed playlists, and online play for petrolheads on a budget.
- Untitled Goose Game (-50%) – A$14.90 Be a horrible goose. Waddle, honk, and wreak havoc in this Aussie-made indie gem. Still hilarious years later.
- Control: Ult. Ed. (-85%) – A$10.40 Remedy’s trippy action adventure with telekinesis, shifting architecture, and mind-bending lore. Comes with both expansions at a ridiculous price.

Pure Scores for PlayStation
Over on PS5, Ghost of Yotei has quickly become a favourite of mine for its atmospheric mountain biomes, which were modelled using drone footage from Hokkaido peaks. And if you want nostalgia, One Piece Odyssey is a JRPG surprise package where Eiichiro Oda personally designed several of the monsters.
- Ghost of Yotei (-21%) – A$99 Samurai action with stunning landscapes and cinematic swordplay. A spiritual successor that feels mighty irresitible for this fan of Ghost of Tsushima.
- DualSense Midnight Black (-20%) – A$95.90 Sony’s haptic feedback and adaptive trigger wizardry in a sleek all-black finish. A second pad never goes astray.
- Borderlands 4 (-17%) – A$99 Loot, shoot, repeat. The vault hunters are back with over-the-top weapons and co-op chaos. Expect cel-shaded mayhem and plenty of bad jokes.
- RoadCraft (-22%) – A$49 A quirky mix of survival crafting and racing. Build, upgrade, and speed through post-apocalyptic highways. Definitely one for genre experimenters.
- One Piece Odyssey (-60%) – A$39.90 Luffy and crew dive into an original JRPG adventure. Turn-based combat with fan-service galore. A treat for anime faithful.
PS4
- EA Sports FC26 (-19%) – A$89 Football’s post-FIFA era continues. New kits, updated squads, and improved animations make this the go-to soccer sim for PS4 owners.
- Dragon Ball Fighterz (-53%) – A$46.80 ArcSys’ gorgeous 2D fighter nails the anime aesthetic. Lightning-fast battles and faithful character moves make it a must for Dragon Ball fans.
- Red Dead Redemption (-21%) – A$59 Rockstar’s western classic finally saddles up on PS4. A slower-paced but unforgettable tale of outlaws and redemption.

Purchase Cheap for PC
PC players are eating well today, too, with Dredge delivering one of the creepiest eldritch fishing sims ever concocted. Fun fact: its horrifying sea creatures were inspired by nightmares one of the devs had while diving in New Zealand. And Immortals Fenyx Rising, while initially seen as a Zelda clone, was Ubisoft Montreal’s internal testbed for aerial combat design which later bled into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla expansions.
- Blue Prince (-26%) – A$32.50 A surreal indie puzzler with shifting architecture and narrative mystery. A newcomer’s hidden gem worth checking at this price.
- Deep Rock Galactic: Master Ed. (-67%) – A$34.90 Co-op mining chaos with dwarves, bugs, and procedurally generated caves. This edition includes expansions for the full beer-chugging, bug-blasting experience.
- Dredge (-59%) – A$14.90 Haunting fishing meets Lovecraftian horror. Catch, upgrade, and survive eerie waters. Small price for big atmosphere.
- Immortals Fenyx Rising (-80%) – A$11.90 Ubisoft’s mythological action-adventure blends Zelda-like exploration with Greek gods. A colourful and breezy experience for bargain hunters.
- Hot Wheels Unleashed (-85%) – A$8.20 Arcade racing fun on loop-de-loop tracks with a huge car roster. Great for couch competition and nostalgia.
