Games like Monster Hunter Wilds and Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii might be waiting just beyond the horizon, but Amazon currently has more than 30 free Steam Deck games you can download right now including classics like Bioshock 2 Remastered and Deus Ex.
If you’re lucky enough to own the best handheld gaming PC of the moment, this is a great deal. You may well already pay for your Amazon Prime subscription to use the free delivery service, or watch movies and shows via Prime Video. However, there is a whole extra level to Amazon Prime, which includes free video games, and there just so happens to be some fantastic Steam Deck experiences included. The one downside to these games is that they can only be claimed via the Epic Game Store, Amazon Games Store, or GOG. Don’t fret, though, as you can still get them working on your Steam Deck. That’s because the Heroic Launcher allows you to link all three of these accounts to your Steam Deck in desktop mode, making it a breeze to open games in these launchers.
You can even create game shortcuts in Steam so that, once the games are downloaded, you don’t need to keep switching to desktop mode to play them.
Of the above games, 14 are Playable, 12 are Verified, and five have Unsupported or Unknown ratings despite working well or requiring a simple workaround. Any games available via Prime Gaming that are outright incompatible with the Steam Deck have not been included in the above list.
As you can see, there are some fantastic games to claim here, and they’ll also be yours to keep forever. Be wary of the expiration dates, though, because once they’re gone, you will have missed your opportunity.
