MH Wilds Grand Escunite location
You can find the Grand Escunite in the shallow cave behind the waterfall in Area 8 of the Scarlet Forest.
Rather than taking a right up onto the higher section, stick to the left path and dive under the water. Swim to the other end to emerge by another fishing pool typically teeming with Platinum Fish.
The pool on the right side of the cave can welcome a Grand Escunite, but we had far more luck in the aforementioned underground pool to the left. They’re typically deep under the water, which can make them hard to spot in a sea of surface-dwelling aquatic life
So how do you catch the Grand Escunite? By using the correct bait. The quest to catch the Grand Escunite gives you the Tentacle Jig. This is what you’ll want to use to pluck the creature out instead of reeling in traditional fish.
If you’re still struggling, just use the Capture Net to clear the pools and rest in the nearby Pop-Up Tent to force the pool to repopulate until a Grand Escunite is visible. Area 17 of the Scarlet Forest is also said to work.
