Because of this expected popularity, and because the entire RTX 5000 series is currently in short supply with high demand, you’re going to need to be organized if you want to secure a card for a sensible price.
With an official price of $999 / $1,449.99 CAD / £979 / AU$2,019, Nvidia’s own Founders Edition card is one of the most affordable options. Other cards from the likes of Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, Palit, PNY, and Zotac might demand more, but sometimes offer lower running temperatures, quieter fans, and more overclocking headroom. The RTX 5080 release date was Thursday, January 30, with the launch time being 9am ET / 6am PT / 2pm GMT. With most stores already sold out, some are operating a “notify me” service, so you can sign up to know when stock becomes available again.
